Freeman

nottingham based Resident dj for the award winning spectrum and dogma events.

Uniqueness is something many DJ’s lose when given a musical specification, and true talent lies in the adaptability of a DJ to play different arrangements of sets and still get a crowd response.

A Freeman set always hits the floor running with a mission statement to excite; fusing sub-genres of electronic music; an ‘anything goes along as its provocative, stimulating, and impelling’ attitude is heard throughout.

With Breaks being the preferred weapon of choice, Freeman’s name has appeared on the same bill as some of the major acts on the scene at the moment: Stanton Warriors, Soul of Man, Vandal, DJ Hal, SI BEGG, Evil Nine, Vigi, Sound Alliance, General Midi, DJ Hyper, Danny McMillan, Delerium Funk and Andy Mc.

Freeman’s Spectrum career began on New Years eve 2005 supporting DJ Hal and Hexadecimal @ Bar Synergy (now Muse) in Nottingham. Running back and forth from his other residency @ Mint Bar, the night proved to be a success and thus Spectrum founder Pete Jordan booked Freeman again to play in March @ Spectrum Futures, Stealth alongside Vandal and Derby Breaks maestro Andy Mc. Gigs have come thick and fast since, flying the Spectrum flag in Birmingham and London with forthcoming appearances in Sheffield and Leicester to name a few.

Nottingham folk may have heard Freeman grace Fletchers bar, Muse, or MINT, as resident in the past. A set at last years Glastonbury festival in the ‘Elements Tent’ was the reward for keep Fletchers Bar rocking in 04/05. His presence is now being felt at Tigerstyles @ Stone BrB current resident (bi-weekly) , Sausage current resident (bi-weekly), and The Movement (student night) @ Stealth Weekly. As well as Guest Spots: at Product @ Stealth, Notts; Ground Level @ The Glasshouse, Derby; Psycle @ BluePrint, Notts; and Ambush @ The Social, Notts.

Anyone aware of the NuskoolBreaks.co.uk website might have heard sets on the internet radio show ''Early Closing'' .

Beats Overboard – the Hip Hop, Turntablism and Breaks boat party was an archetype example of Music, Party and Good time integration, which was the hedonistic child of Freeman (well he is the promoter anyway).

Many are anticipating good things in the future, as far as Freeman is concerned.
